2 million euros wasted

The park you can see but not visit in Calle Betis. I’m not even sure that it’s got a name. But it doesn’t matter. Most people will miss it anyway it if they walk along the river at Calle Betis.

Situated between the police station and the expensive restaurants it lies there in silence. Few people notice it. Even fewer know about it. But none gets to enter the premises.
This park was closed the same day it opened. Or at least, that’s what people said when I talked to them. I had a chat with a waiter and a police man. Both independent of each other told me that the park had been inaugurated by politicians. Pictures had been taken. Stories written. And then…
The park had been closed.
Today, all that people will meet when approaching the park is a rusty fence tall enough to keep the citizens and tax payers out. But far from avoiding a colony of cats expanding in the wilderness.

You might think that 2 million euros would be a little expensive for a cat farm. But hey! These cats have a view to the river. It’s amazing what the politicians do for the citizens in Seville.
